Hello!
My name is Nilanjana Van Order. People call me Nil.
I make jewelry because it is fun. I draw my inspiration from my surroundings and everyday life. This ranges from anime graphics inspired by my daughter’s pre-occupation by the same, to a falling leaf.
My creative journey began with Architecture over five decades into the past. After many detours into various professions in the meantime my foray into jewelry began only in 2017.
I joined the Art League School in Alexandria VA, where I was fortunate to be taught by world class teachers. There I learned the art of enameling, stone setting and metal smithing. My pieces reflect the intermingling of these skills. I play with alternative materials such as steel and acrylic as well as the traditional silver and gold.
I hope my jewelry brings you as much pleasure in wearing them as they do me in creating them.
